Stephanie joins us as a current touring player on the WTA circuit. She maintains current international rankings of 260 in doubles and 570 in singles on the ITF World Tennis Tour. She was ranked #1 in New England before being recruited to Cornell, where she earned the MVP Award her freshman year. She then transferred to Yale and received a BS in Psychology which aids her in understanding the psyche of her players. She also serves as Director of Tennis at the Country Club of Waterbury in the summer.
Joe grew up in Southbury, CT and learned to play at MRC before becoming one of our Teaching Pros. He is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Finance at Post University where he also captains the tennis team. He is PTR certified at the professional level and has 5 years of teaching experience. In the summer he is the Assistant Pro at Ridgewood Country Club.
Kate originally hails from Sheffield, England. She works for MRC part-time but has been a valued member for 10 years. Kate has a degree in Early Childhood Education and has taught pre-school for 19 years. Kate also coached middle school tennis for 3 years and completed the USTA School Tennis Program. She currently plays on four USTA teams.
Brett moved to the area from Boston 3 years ago with his wife, Lauren. He is certified by USPTR at the professional level. Besides
teaching at MRC, he is the Director of Tennis at Rock Ridge Country Club. He attended University of New Hampshire, where he played Division 1 tennis and was Team Captain for two years.
Mike is considered a pioneer in 10 & Under Tennis in New England, serving on a USTA sub-committee to help develop the format for 10 & Under Tennis Tournaments in the NE Section. He is certified by both USPTA and PTR at the professional level and has 20 years of teaching experience.
Krete originally hails from Tallinn, Estonia. She was ranked the #2 junior player in Estonia and played in USTA’s League Tennis Nationals in 2011 & 2012. She is certified by PTR at the professional level and completed a PTR training for 10 & Under Tennis. She also has over 10 years of teaching experience.
Richard has been with MRC since 2001, and has more than 18 years ofteaching experience. He is certified by USPTA at Level 1 and by PTR at the professional level. He is an ATP Tournament Qualifier as well as a USTA National High Performance Coach. Richard is the proud father of two sons, Ryan and Eric.
Junior Tennis Coordinator
Amy has been a USTA captain for 13 years and led MRC's 4.5 team to Nationals in 2009. She was also USTA New England Sportsmanship Award Recipient in 2011. Amy is certified by PTR at the professional level and has 12 years of teaching experience. In her spare time, she is on the New England Senior Tennis Foundation Board of Directors.
Matt graduated from WestConn, where he captained the soccer and tennis teams and won numerous accolades. He is certified by PTR at the professional level and has 8 years of teaching experience. Matt is currently a Junior Team Tennis Coach and does USTA men's open tournament play. Matt also enjoys hiking, soccer, and snowboarding.
Deniece’s love for tennis started when she was 8 years old. She has a B.S. in Computer Science Management and Accounting from Franklin Pierce College, where she played on her college team. After college, she worked in the corporate world and then returned to her passion for tennis. She has two children, Lauren and Justin.
